Mr. Lamanda had me hooked from page one onward. I loved the suspense and how the story kept revealing more and more about the secret within Dunston FAlls.The ending was a smasharoo, not what I expected.Great character development, good story, super diaslogue. I liked the lead characters and thought the author's depiction of Maine during a harsh winter ice storm was very atmospheric. The problem is that, despite having a good story to tell, the author needs to learn to write. Both the grammar and the word usage are very poorly executed. Even a love scene early in the book is, quite frankly, tedious. This is a shame because there are good characters and a very intriguing story going on. Ordinarily I would give this 3-stars but the other problem is that the formatting is awful! Lines break in some places and all run together in others. It is sometimes difficult to tell who is speaking because of the confusing formatting.If the book could be reformatted and given a read by a good editor it could be a nice, enjoyable mystery but, as it is now, the reader has to work harder than they should to get the story. 5 of 6 people found the following review helpful Wow, By This review is from: Dunston Falls (Five Star First Edition Mystery) (Hardcover) My title says it all, WOW!
